Range (?)VIPER systems use Radio Frequency (RF) technologies to communicate with your vehicle, and these technologies each have a typical operating range. Range varies by the technology used, but also because of environmental factors such as interference from other RF sources. Failsafe Starter Kill (?)Keep your car where you parked it with the Failsafe Starter Kill, an immobilizer designed to prevent hot-wiring.
Anti-Carjacking (VRS) (?)VRS is a user-operated anti-carjacking system. Once activated, if your vehicle is carjacked, 30 seconds later the siren will start screaming for help and the lights will flash. When the carjacker pulls over and turns off the ignition, the starter kill will activate, which should prompt the carjacker to then abandon your vehicle for eventual recovery.

VIPER recently made a significant performance upgrade to the RF receiver section of many of our award-winning security and remote start systems. The new XR+ Extreme Range superheterodyne receiver has an improved sensitivity specification of between 3 dB and 6 DB, which equates to a measurable range increase on the order of 15 percent. It also offers improved image rejection for certain types of RF interference, resulting in improved reliability.

    Viper installed Dec 2013, incident that the car would not shut off when key taken out; system reset; second incident that headlights did not come on, need as it was 5:30am,again could not kill the remote by hitting the brake; third incident the same week, auto started car, driving 60 mph on highway, engine seemed to cut out for a minute with all dash lights flashing. Installer willing to replace but confidence in product is waining.

    Excellent remote start system! Installed on a 2010 Honda odyssey touring. I didn't want to take out the factory keyless entry system, I just wanted an add on remote start system that gives good range. WORKS FLAWLESSLY.

    We installed this on our 2012 Hyundai Sonata GLS and it has worked very well. We have had it about a month now and no issues to speak of. Distance at which it engages from varies on conditions, but its priceless to not leave the house to warm the car.

    Outstanding. I got this installed at Best Buy & love the way this works & how professionally it was handled there. I have never had a remote starter before but park in the street in Milwaukee so this will be perfect for the winter. Not all Best Buys give the same prices so shop around & get written prices before you commit.
