Application Notes
Note: When your SmartStart app launches on your iPhone or iPod touch, you may notice that the home screen is grayed out for the first few seconds. You must wait for this screen to return to the normal blue color scheme before you operate the system. If you select one of the other tabs such as Cars or Settings while the home screen is still grayed out, the app will not complete loading and you will not be able to control your vehicle. If this happens, close the app and re-launch it.
Note: For users with more than one vehicle, please note the following known issue: On the Cars tab, when you check another vehicle to transfer SmartStart control to it, the first vehicle check mark will not disappear until you close the app and re-launch it. However, the change in control from the first vehicle to the second one you checked will take effect immediately.

Account Setup Issues
If you do not receive your account activation e-mail within an hour of the completion of the activation process at your authorized dealer, please follow these steps:
1. Check your mailbox spam or junk filters to see if the message was intercepted in error
2. If you used a work e-mail address, ask your system administrator to check for any intercepted e-mails from mail@managesmartstart.com
3. Contact Directed Technical Support by sending an email to techs@viper.com or call 800-753-0600.
For Customers Outside of the United States
SmartStart coverage is currently available in the US only. Although the app itself can be used on iPhones anywhere data connectivity is available, the SmartStart module that is installed in the vehicle has to be provisioned to work in the GSM/GPRS network for each region or country.
The SmartStart team is working hard on getting the system online in other countries. Please keep an eye on our website for any announcements on product availability for other countries as well as expanded features and new SmartStart applications for other devices.
