Remote Confirmation (?)2-Way remotes let you stay in touch with your vehicle, confirming your commands (such as remote start, or arming your security system) either with an LCD screen on the remote, or using LED lights. Range (?)Viper systems use Radio Frequency (RF) technologies to communicate with your vehicle, and these technologies each have a typical operating range. Range varies by the technology used, but also because of environmental factors such as interference from other RF sources. Remote Start (?)Remote Start allows you to start your engine by remote control, allowing your vehicle's climate control system to warm up or cool down the cabin before you get in. Range is important with remote start (your vehicle might be parked down the street, or at the far end of a parking lot) and 2-Way remote start systems are preferred (because they confirm that your vehicle has started.) Stinger DoubleGuard Shock Sensor (?)Each Viper security system comes standard with the dual stage Stinger DoubleGuard shock sensor, which detects blows or impacts to the vehicle and can discriminate light impacts from heavy ones.
Neo Revenger 6-Tone Siren (?)Light impacts result in WarnAway chirps from the Neo Revenger Siren, while heavier blows result in the full 120 dB 6-Tone sequence, designed to frighten away the would-be thief and call attention to the intrusion attempt.
Failsafe Starter Kill (?)Keep your car where you parked it with the Failsafe Starter Kill, an immobilizer designed to prevent hot-wiring.
Anti-Carjacking (VRS) (?)VRS is a user-operated anti-carjacking system. Once activated, if your vehicle is carjacked, 30 seconds later the siren will start screaming for help and the lights will flash. When the carjacker pulls over and turns off the ignition, the starter kill will activate, which should prompt the carjacker to then abandon your vehicle for eventual recovery.

    Ditto a lot of comments so far, the function of the unit is great as a alarm system. The fobs are cheaply made, and after a few drops on the ground by mistake will fall apart. I had to superglue it together to hold it together.

    I got a Viper alarm 3305v responder on my 2007 Monte Carlo LT. I added a DIRECTED 507M DIGITAL TILT/MOTION SENSOR. This sensor works great in detecting tow trucks and thieves who want to steel your rims. I also added a DIRECTED 508D DUAL ZONE FIELD DISTURBANCE SENSOR. This sensor detects when someone is out side your car. The Viper alarm works great but the quality of the plastic is very cheap made a Taiwan. They charge you more in installation then what the alarm cost. I also use The Unbreakable AutoLock PRO simply locks up the brake making your car or truck impossible to drive. The Unbreakable AutoLock PRO features a solid steel deadbolt lock system is virtually drill-proof, cut-proof and freon-proof under normal circumstances and use. I had this break peddle lock on when someone broke into my Monte Carlo last year. The thieve broke the door handle open the drivers door and made off with my Oakley sunglasses, Nike Air Max, passport and a credit car. I live in Mexico so on star doesn't work here in Mexico. My next project is to add a GPS system were I can find my car with my cell phone. I would also like to add a crazy fuel pump kill switch were you have to turn on the AC, defrost, and light some type of crazy combination. Yeah I know it's a bit much but when a thieve comes and steels your car your left telling your self I could have should have. I also got a locking gas cap to keep anyone from steeling my gas or adding water to damage the engine.

    Love the alarm,hate the remote Ive been through 2 remotes just had to buy my 3rd and there is no warranty from viper on the remotes. I never drop them, I baby them but they stink. Like I said the viper system works great if you don't mind replacing remotes

    Got this viper at california audio in west valley utah used them because by viper they are the preferred dealer here i think my model is newer then this one because the both remotes look different then mine good alarm over all liking it so far i would just like to kno if the remote with the lcd screen can light up at all would really like to kno thanks

    I learned the hard way, I bought an offbrand alarm (Omega). My truck was broken into and over 4 grand in audio/video gear was stolen. I wish I had spent the extra money on this Viper 2 way to begin with. Anyway, I have the alarm now and it is definately top notch, I have never owned anything this advanced before and I love. Now I just have to save up to buy a backup battery for it. Buy this alarm, it will be the smartest investment you make!!!

    the Best-Buy installers may have thought that Viper alarms were a pain to install, but I believe it's not that difficult for experienced installers, and totally worth it. Only had the alarm for 3-4 days and I love it. LCD remote is nice, tons of options and very detailed instructions. Arm/disarm chirps are perfect volume (not too loud when arriving home late at night) and the alarm is very loud. Got this alarm system to replace another alarm that was only 8 months old and crapped out on me twice with major issues. The viper 2-way alarm has great features and is very affordable. You cannot beat Directed Electronics in price/quality of alarms.

    I'm not sure why the 3 star reviews but I had this system installed yesterday and I LOVE IT. NOW... first, note... I ALSO had the battery backup unit installed but more importantly, the motion sensor. (Radar) unit install. This second unit makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE... and I would highly recommend it added. Here is what it does. The motion sensor is in under the center console. When the alarm is activated, it senses motion in and near your car. The dealer (Pacific Stereo) adjusted the sensitivity so that it won't pickup someone a foot away from my vehicle, but if they look in the window, it'll start to warn. ALSO.. and VERY COOL... windows down.. stick your hand inside, not touching the car... warning starts to chirp. THAT IS GREAT!!! Plus, all that info appears on my remote. I have the same remote as pictured above. I'm very happy with this unit, in combination with the backup battery unit plus the motion sensor. It's very cool. If you live in Los Angeles, check out Pacific Stereo. I'm just a customer, who was happy with their service and happy with these Viper units.
